Teaching & Talks

I have always been an educator and I previously spent time as a high school math teacher and later a community college instructor. At Wake Tech Community College I taught precalculus and a supplemental course on growth-mindset in math.

I have given talks at the American Astronomical Society, the UT Austin Board of Visitors meeting and below is me speaking as a part of the campaign towards the Giant Magellan Telescope.

With my current citizen science project, Dark Energy Explorers, I lead workshops for K-12 teachers across the country and you can find educational materials I have developed on my teaching and talks page if you are interested in incorporating dark energy into your classroom.

I also have developed curricula for teaching within a planetarium for Fiske Planetarium at CU Boulder and conducted research on teaching climate change for UT Austin’s College of Natural Sciences.
